Huchuy Qosqo Trek, 2 days
Overview
The unhurried version of the trek: the same Inca trail, but with time to meet the people who live along the route.
On the first day we climb from Tauca to the 4,428 m pass and descend to Pucamarca, where we have lunch with the community. In the afternoon we reach Huchuy Qosqo and sleep at the lodge, with the valley below and the clear highland sky above.
On the second day, after breakfast, we walk calmly down to Lamay in the Sacred Valley, where our transport is waiting to return to Cusco.
It is a good alternative to the classic Inca Trail: high mountain scenery, an archaeological site and real contact with the communities, in two days.
