Huchuy Qosqo Trek, 1 day
Overview
Huchuy Qosqo means "little Cusco". It is an Inca site perched above the Sacred Valley, with adobe and stone walls and a view that takes in the whole valley as far as Pisac.
The hike starts at the community of Tauca, at 3,800 m. You climb for an hour and a half to the highest point of the route, at 4,428 m, and from there descend on an original Inca trail with the mountain range in front of you the whole way.
After touring the archaeological site with your guide, we keep descending to the village of Lamay, where our transport is waiting to drive back to Cusco.
It is the perfect option for anyone who wants to walk a real Inca trail without committing to several days.
